Thursday 5/1/08 report

Jenny and Anna joined me for a half day inshore fishing, wind was blowing (as usual) so we stayed in the marsh. Started off slow with a nice flounder, then a few “lady” fish. We were finally able to locate a school of reds cruising an oyster bed. They were very spooky when we cast to them. Finally we had to just soak a live shrimp and let them come to the bait. We managed to get a half dozen or so to come to the baits. Jen and Anna were great to fish with and I look forward to seeing them again soon.

p.s. Jen, I’ll try to locate those sunglasses!!!!!!

A Trip to the Ledge!

Fishing Report, Jacksonville Fishing Charter No Comments »

Nigel, Miles, Matt and John joined me on a trip to the ledge. Seas were calm, we did get rained on once but in the middle of the rain storm Nigel managed to catch a 30 lb. dolphin!!!! John caught his first offshore fish, a respectable 42 lb. dolphin. Check out the photos and you’ll see all the catch. We ended the day with 5 dolphin, one blackfin tuna and a “ledge trout” (barracuda). A good time was had by all, I really enjoyed fishing with these guys and look forward to our next trip.

Fishing Report

Been a while since posting anything on the reports, I’ll try to do better!!! Offshore reports are good for Wahoo, Dolphin(dorado) and some tuna. Just need the weather to cooperate to get to them. This weekend was good, several boats were out and fish were caught. Spanish are showing at the jetties along with the bluefish. The water is warming inshore and the trout and reds are beginning to bite better. We are also having an early flounder catch. The large ones are not here yet but the bite is starting.

Wednesday, another trout day, over 30 with a couple of large flounder also. Today we had a mixed bag of trout, redfish, black drum, and the below “little one”.

Nice Red (25-30lbs) caught by Scott Taylor yesterday aboard the Kat-Man-Tay II/2. Also a nice catch of large croaker. Large Reds are in the river now and the water is cooling off and the trout should start to show in the marsh soon.

Los Cabos Billfishing Tourn.

Fishing Report, Updates No Comments »

We’re back from the tournament. Had a great time aboard the “Safari”. First day of fishing we released a stripe marlin and a blue marlin. Second day we caught the winning dorado and a few other “gaffers”. Third day we missed a big blue marlin. The fishing is great down there and hopefully we’ll be back next year to try again. Fishing there is a special treat. The blue water is just outside the marina. It is totally a different world in “Cabo”.

Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, Los Cabos, Mexico

Fishing Report, Updates No Comments »

The Admiral and I are off to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to fish the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament next week. I’m fishing aboard the new “Safari”, a 46′ Riviera. Last year we had the first place wahoo, 79.4 lbs. We’ll be back on the 20th. Call my cell and leave a message or e’mail me for fishing dates. The weather is improving and the water cooling off. The inshore bite is on and the wahoo should show locally anytime now.

Nor’easter, go away

Fishing Report, Jacksonville Fishing Charter, Weather No Comments »

It looks like mother nature is not going to let us fish this weekend offshore. Have some good folks coming in from N.C. to go offshore on Sat. but it may not happen. No fishing now for over a week offshore with the northeaster and now another session of bad weather through the weekend.

With all this passing the bottom fishing should be good and wahoo season is coming up fast. Inshore the creeks should be great with the water cooling, just need the weather to cooperate.

Finally, we are open for business and ready to go fishing. The water is cooling off and the inshore Reds and Trout will be turning on soon in the shallow waters. The wind and rain has stopped for now and the seas should start to be more friendly(if we don’t get another northeaster?????)

Call for dates available!!!

Thanks for all the interest in KMTTOURS.
